Email SupportFrequently Asked Questions
What kind of content should I import?
Clinical Brief is designed for published medical literature only, such as supported PDFs, DOIs, and PubMed identifiers. Do not upload patient information or any content containing protected health information.
Is Clinical Brief medical advice?
No. Clinical Brief is an educational literature-review tool. AI-generated briefs may contain errors or omissions. Always verify claims against the original source and use your own professional judgment.
How does the AI generate briefs?
When you request a brief, the app sends the extracted text from your literature to our backend, which uses OpenAI to produce a structured summary with evidence links back to the source paper. The output is machine-generated and should always be verified.
What happens if only an abstract is available?
The app can generate an abstract-constrained brief, but those sections should be treated as orientation only and verified against the full paper before relying on them.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings. Apple handles billing for in-app subscriptions.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open Clinical Brief, go to Settings, and choose Restore Purchases.
How do I remove local papers and briefs?
Delete them from within the app, or uninstall the app to remove all app-managed local storage from your Mac.
How do I request deletion of server-side data?
Email clinicalbrief@eddycastro.com with your request and we will process it.
Is my data secure?
All network communication uses TLS encryption. Session authentication is cryptographic. We do not store your payment information. Literature text sent for AI processing is not used to train AI models.
I think a brief contains an error.
Please report it by email and include the article title or DOI if possible. Generated output can be wrong or incomplete, so verification against the source paper is always recommended.
