LeadClip turns text from a page you select into an editable lead draft. Extraction starts when you click “Extract Lead.” Page text and lead drafts are processed on your device, and the current extension does not send them to LeadClip servers.
Information the extension processes
When you click “Extract Lead,” LeadClip selects the tab active at that moment. After the AI model is ready, it reads that tab’s URL and up to 15,000 characters of visible page text, with whitespace normalized, for extraction. If the page exceeds the local model’s context limit, LeadClip retries with a shorter prefix and tells you how much text it used. If even the reduced text does not fit, extraction stops with an error. If you switch tabs while the operation is running, it can continue on the originally selected tab. LeadClip does not automatically scan other tabs or pages in the background. Generated fields can contain mistakes or omit information; review them before use.
Where processing happens
LeadClip processes page text and generated lead fields locally in the extension and Chrome’s built-in on-device AI. The current extension does not transmit page text, URLs, or extracted lead records to LeadClip servers or to an analytics or advertising service. Chrome may need to download or update its AI model files; that download is managed by Chrome and is separate from sending page content.
Drafts, editing, and exports
Extracted drafts and your edits are held in the side panel’s memory, associated with their source tabs. The current extension does not save them to persistent storage. Reloading the panel clears that memory. Chrome may keep the panel loaded when you close it, so closing it alone does not guarantee the draft is cleared. A draft is also cleared when its source tab closes, reloads, or navigates to another URL. Copying text or JSON to the clipboard and downloading a CSV are actions you initiate. Exported files and clipboard contents are outside the panel’s memory and are not deleted when a draft clears. If you paste or import a record into another service, that service’s privacy policy and practices apply.
Permissions and page access
LeadClip requests webpage access and Chrome’s scripting and side panel permissions so it can read the page you select and display an editable draft beside it. Page extraction is initiated by clicking “Extract Lead.” Some browser pages restrict extension access. You can remove LeadClip or change its site access in Chrome’s extension settings.
Children, sale, and advertising
LeadClip is a productivity tool and is not designed for children. The current extension does not sell page content or lead records, use them for advertising, or use them to determine creditworthiness or eligibility.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
LeadClip uses page content and lead data only to provide the user-requested lead extraction feature. It does not transfer this data to LeadClip or other servers, use it for advertising, or make it available for human review. LeadClip’s use of data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
The website’s interactive example
The promotional page uses a fictional profile and preset sample fields. It does not run Chrome’s AI or read other webpages. The example’s script keeps your edits in that page’s memory and does not send them to LeadClip servers. Its CSV and clipboard controls export the sample values you choose. Reloading the page restores the preset fields.
